Well, I've survived the last two months, eyesight reasonably intact. I attempted to update the Kaiser Parody site and discovered that Windows SP2 cut off my FTP access to the host. I really don't want to uninstall SP2 because in the past attempting such things has led to computer meltdown. I will probably end up moving the parody site.
This weeks mail has been all bad news. The Office of Civil Rights, that was supposed to be investigating Kaiser for posting systems diagrams with patient info on the Internet, apparently let Kaiser off with a wrist slap. They should have fined Kaiser for an egregious HIPAA violation.
Edited to add: I just realized that Kaiser lied to the OCR when they said the Systems Diagrams were no longer on the web. The copy I made is still up: http://kaisersystem.netfirms.com/docviewer/index.html
More bad news: the Governor requested that the Dept. of Employment and Housing (DFEH) look into my case. DFEH claims to have done some sort of investigation without bothering to call me (gee, they run their investigations exactly like Kaiser: just enough to back up whatever version of the story that will get them off the hook.). I received a case-closed letter that contained quite a few false statements, so I'm going to give the Governor another shot. I really don't feel up to pursuing this as a Pro Se case: why doesn't justice just come along and happen when you need it to? *grumble*
